Consultation and Treatment

The first consultation is always for one hour. A detailed current and past medical history is taken, and blood pressure is checked.

The treatment plan usually includes dietary and lifestyle advice plus a prescription in the form of either:-

  • a blend of herbal tinctures (in alcohol)
  • dried herbs to make infusions (teas)
  • tablets
  • the Herbalist may also recommend specific supplements and vitamins
  • creams, ointments or essential oil blends (made up by the Medical Herbalist)

Follow up appointments are three weeks after the initial consultation and last 30 minutes.

Costs

First Consultation - new patient (always one hour) £70.00
Subsequent follow up consultations (half an hour)  £40.00

The cost of medicine is extra - a 2 week course of herbs in tincture form is approximately £19.50 depending on the herbs used.

Medicines

The medicines prescribed are usually biodynamic tinctures (but can also be tablets or teas) from the Medical Herbalist's Dispensary. The herbal tinctures come from suppliers authorised by the Department of Health's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

These biodynamic herbal tinctures are of exceptional quality and give a high level of successful treatment outcomes.
